Before you delete FirstHour
Deleting FirstHour never deletes your pictures in Photos. The Vault is the one exception, because it lives inside the app.
Step by step
- Open your Vault. Look through what's in it.
- Save what you want to keep. Open each one and save it to Photos or Files, or make an encrypted backup from the ••• menu.
- Keep a copy of your plan. If you still want your first-hour plan, email it to yourself or print it first.
- Delete the app the way you would any other.
Good to know
- Once FirstHour is deleted, what's left in the Vault can't be brought back unless you saved a backup and kept your recovery phrase. We don't have a copy.
- Pictures saved to Photos are normal, unlocked pictures again.
- iPhone may keep a few small items in its secure storage, the Keychain, after an app is deleted: your Vault's locked key record, the IMEI and serial number you typed, and Theft Lock's sign-in. They can't open anything, because the Vault's contents are gone.
- If Theft Lock is added and you turn it on, your account on our server stays after you delete the app.
