iPhone stolen in Taiwan: who to call

Short answerFrom another phone or a computer, mark your iPhone as lost at icloud.com/find. Then block your SIM with your network, and call your bank. If you're in danger, call 110 first.

Take a breath, and ask someone to help if you can. We read each number below on an official page on 3 November 2026. Where it's a regulator's or government page rather than the company's own, the note says so. Numbers change, so if one doesn't work, use the official page beside it. Numbers that only work from your own network's phone won't help until you have a SIM again, so look for another way to reach them. Call costs vary.

First steps

  1. Mark your iPhone as lost at icloud.com/find. Here's the full plan.
  2. Block your SIM with your network, so nobody else can receive your login codes. Ask how to get your own codes or a replacement SIM.
  3. Call your banks and e-wallets, and ask them to protect your accounts.
  4. Report it to the police and ask about blocking the phone.

You can also use CTBC's online text chat (24 hours, every day), internet banking or its smart assistant. The fee is NT$100 per card, and a loss report can't be cancelled once it takes effect. From abroad, CTBC runs a 24-hour customer service centre with toll-free numbers that depend on the country. They are listed on its site, not on this page. The page gives no hours for the phone line.

Report it to the police

If you are not in danger, report the loss or theft at the nearest police station. We did not find an official English page on reporting a stolen phone, so no online option is listed. Ask for a copy of your report, because your network or bank may ask for it.

Block the phone

We did not find an official Taiwan page on blocking a stolen phone's IMEI. The telecoms regulator's (NCC) contact page refused our connection, so we could not check. Suspend your SIM with your network, ask it what it can do about the phone itself, and lock the phone with Find My.

Report fraud or identity theft

If someone has tricked you or used your accounts, call your bank first, then call 165.

The National Police Agency set this up in 2004. A receptionist records what happened and gives you guidance. The page gives no separate hotline hours: it lists office hours of Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm, which may not apply to the hotline.

How FirstHour helps

Plan B gets you ready before anything happens. FirstHour's built-in provider lists cover the Philippines and the US for now. In Taiwan, you get the general first-hour steps, and you can add your own providers and numbers. Send your plan to someone you trust or print it. FirstHour can't lock your accounts or find your phone for you.
